High School
At Desert Christian Academy our goal is to partner with parents to equip their high school student as they enter the teenage years and take the first steps of planning for college and beyond.
During these formative years, students explore their God-given interests and set goals for the future with a focus on "What problem is God calling me to solve?". At Desert Christian Academy, we go beyond college prep to ensure that each student is not only prepared academically for success at the next level, but equipped spiritually to follow Jesus and impact the world for Him. The students are mentored spiritually by invested teachers, coaches, and staff members who help them strengthen their Biblical worldview and deepen their connection with Christ. With a strong spiritual foundation and critical thinking skills, they will be equipped to draw others nearer to God.
Curriculum
DCA understands that all knowledge and truth that can be gained through study of the many facets of God’s creation, is contained completely in Him. There is no truth that exists apart from God. Therefore, the goal of all subjects of study at DCA is the focus of our ministry - ultimately to lead students to a greater knowledge of God. The high school curriculum at Desert Christian Academy is intended to be rigorous in order to prepare students for success after they leave DCA and work toward their goal of "What problem is God calling me to solve?". We offer strong academic courses in core subjects including: Bible, English, History, Mathematics, Physical Education, and Science. Also, our LEAP Program (Learning Enhancement and Academic Progress) is a resource for neurodiverse learners who may need special accommodations and support to reach their full potential.
DCA celebrates the uniqueness of each student so for those students who are ready to challenge themselves with college-level coursework, we offer Honors classes, AP and Dual-Credit College classes. Additionally, students are offered a selection of elective classes and FLEX classes. Through our curriculum and extracurricular programs, we strive to develop students who are socially compassionate, academically skilled, personally perseverant, and spiritually mature.
Bible
The pinnacle of Christian Education is to infuse biblical truths into the lives of our students academically, socially, and spiritually. God’s Word is the foundation of the mission and vision of DCA’s core values. All seniors engage in a Dual-Credit College level Apologetics Bible class. High school students participate in weekly chapel services and parents are always welcome to attend! The high school annual retreat is focused on fellowship and spiritual renewal and is always a highlight for the students.
