Elementary School

Desert Christian Academy encourages elementary students to grow spiritually, academically, physically and socially

Students build a solid foundation each year as they learn and master the fundamentals in the core subject areas of Bible, math, language arts, science, and social studies, as well as a variety of enrichment classes. Elementary students experience a close knit community centered on Christian values where they can feel truly valued and loved.

Curriculum

The elementary curriculum at DCA is designed to instill a biblical worldview in all subjects and nurture a lifelong love of learning. In addition to Bible, math, language arts, science, and social studies; students also receive instruction in art, music and physical education. Technology is used across the curriculum and the students have many opportunities to grow in the area of computer skills. Our teachers provide personalized attention to ensure students are academically challenged and supported as they build a strong academic foundation in order to prepare them middle school and high school. Also, our LEAP Program (Learning Enhancement and Academic Progress) is a resource for neurodiverse learners who may need special accommodations and support to reach their full potential.

Bible

At DCA, God’s Word is the authoritative text that governs all of our curriculum. However, it is also essential for students to learn the Bible in it’s pure form so we have comprehensive Bible instruction across all grades leading students to clearly understand God’s Word and how to navigate it for themselves. Our students memorize a Bible verse each week and learn to apply it to their lives. Elementary students participate in weekly chapel services and parents are always welcome to attend! Our 4th & 5th Grade Bible Study Groups, G*Matters for girls and Team Extreme for boys, meet before school twice a month.
