We believe that a strong academic foundation must be established in order to support success in a child’s educational future. In our Preschool and Pre-kindergarten classes, our teachers make the initial educational experience enjoyable and rewarding.
Special attention is given to each child in all areas of development. Our teachers believe that solid fundamental components should be mastered in order for students to excel academically. Children are led to develop good work habits and strong social skills. Students are encouraged to develop biblical values, which include respecting authority, learning obedience and practicing self-control.
At Desert Christian Academy, our Preschool and Pre-kindergarten classes help build a strong foundation in both a child’s spiritual life and academic future.

Student Age Ranges

The ratio in the toddler class is 1 qualified teacher to every 6 children. The rest of the preschool can operate at a ratio of 1 qualified teacher to every 12 children. The number of children enrolled per classroom is dependent upon the size of the classroom building.
Snacks and Lunch
A morning and afternoon snack are provided. Parents are to provide lunch or order a lunch from the Student Store. We are nut sensitive and do not serve anything with nuts in the ingredient list.
Bob Jones University is used for phonics and math/science. Each week a different letter and number is featured.
For students ages 3 and up, Handwriting Without Tears is used to work on writing. It includes fun games, practice sheets, music and more to enhance the student’s ability to form letters and numbers.
Every month has an exciting new theme around which all of our activities are centered. Each classroom follows a daily schedule that includes: large group and small group activities, indoor and outdoor learning opportunities, as well as experiments, art, and readiness skills.
We are a Christ-centered school and offer daily Bible time, Chapel once a week, and continuous implementation of biblical values. Students are assessed twice each year and parent-teacher conferences are offered at those times so you are well informed of how your child is growing and developing.
